Cornwall, UK

We visit friends and travel with them to Cornwall to meet up with one of their sets of parents. The views from their house are amazing. You can look over the expansive lawn and see the ocean. We wander down to the sea, buckets and pails in hand. And scope out the high tide. It is a blustery day. Looking back at where we came sits a little cottage with a sculptor who is outside carving. We all take a seat. Hmmm, what can we fill our buckets with? There is barely any beach glass. We wander back up the trail. And pass a donkey in a yard on the way. Can you see it? A dragon fly sits on the many berries we gorge on. Then the big old house comes into view. It is magnificent. We enter the hallway in bright yellow with old floorboards. The dining room is painted in a dark maroon. The living room/ lounge is huge. It has an amazing ceiling rose. We got a couple for our place and are now at a loss as to how to attach them. The lounge even has a grand piano. The view to the sea. Up the stairs sits the grandfather clock. The kitchen is my favourite room with the old cooker. It is painted in a warm burnt orange. The original box for bells in each room to call the maids still sits on the wall. We break for a big meal. Back to the kitchen. The original old cooker was found by the builder as they were renovating and had removed a piece of board. It was in pieces and the builder put the whole thing back together. Even the original tiles are on the walls. Beautiful. The library. The opposite wall is all book shelves. Our lovely hosts for the day.
