Birthday

It is my birthday today and I have a little something that I am going to do for my 34th year. I am going to "Lent" it. I am going to give up junk food for the year. Okay, maybe this seems drastic, but I am painting chocolate and pastries all day long and there is nothing to do but eat them when I am done. I am tired of junk food, quite frankly. I will make an exception of allowing myself junk on 10 occassions during the year. After all, I do have a wedding and a birthday. I am committed. Anyone else care to join me? (any crazies out there?) It truly is only hard the first week.

Happy Birthday! Wow! Good for you girlfriend!!!

No, I don't care to join you, but I will think of you as I resist junk food most of the time!!!

Happy Birthday, Michal! I tried to skype you but missed you, so I wrote a blog dedicated to you instead... go to my blog to see! www.annavandas.blogspot.com

love ya girl.

OH, and I don't think I'll join your junk-abstinence for now. I'm generally eating healthy these days, but a strict thing like that would most likely send me into a major backswing, and I'd probably end up craving the sweets more than ever. I think it's a great goal, though. Go for it!

Hi Michal,

I am going to avoid using swear words to describe the sister who forgot to contact you on your birthday. STUPID!!!

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY MICHAL!!!!

Know that I love you and think about you often and talk about you every time I am at work.

Excellent lent idea. I am afraid to fail if I joined you. But something in me wants to. What are all the occations. What happens when you have your inlaws in the same city as your parents and celebrate all holidays twice. Talk to me girl. I feel so tempted!!

PS Hot pic hottie.

Hey, no worries! I had a low key birthday with Olivia and Andrew on my actual birthday (no cake just fruit smoothies). And then we had a birthday/anniversary celebration this weekend in Sheffield. I ate dessert there.

Well, if you have all celebrations twice with two families then you have to pick the important ones! It is the same as Lent...what do you do then? Just say 'no thank you, none for me". I am allowing myself 10 times to eat junk in a year...but really beyond my wedding and my birthday, I am not sure what other occassion I would really like to have junk! It may end up being just the two times for the year.

You were the one that gave me the idea. You were the one that said a few years ago how you were thinking of giving up junk for a year instead of just the Lentin period.

I am not going to talk you into it, but I just wanted to get control of my eating junk food since I am painting more chocolates, candy, and pastries all day long. It is only a form of limiting my intake. I must say, I feel much better these days for having given it up.
