A short visit to Bristol to see friends... Arriving in a car park with scooters and other essentials at the Bristol Quay. A hot day calls for ice cream and Popsicles with the back drop of an old ship about to set sail. Wandering through the city centre the cathedral is at the top of hill on the high street. A great view of the bridge from the road and park. Bristol is home to Banksy, likely the world's most famous graffiti artist. We get a tour of some of the city's Bansky works. There were city debates as to whether to remove the graffiti or to preserve it. It was decided they would remain. Unfortunately not everyone felt the same. The Bristol pieces recently made the news after being defaced with what looks like blue paint balls. Another Banksy which was also later defaced and is currently under restoration. A relaxing nook with a friend. We wander down a side alley... ...and through an arch to another picturesque street. Down at the waterfront there are pathways that meander along for miles. Past river boats that people live on... and past a boat with a Banksy on the side. You will have to look really closely for that one (hint: it is the white blob at water level). Some shade from trees helps as we begin to meltdown from hunger. We find a great place with a view to eat and hunker down. A last shot on the way back to London...rape seed fields (for you Canadians...Canola, which we learned is "Canada" and "oil" sandwiched together. It is a genetically modified product in Canada making it illegal to import and sell in the UK. Depsite that there is rape seed oil here. I don't get it myself.)
